Janice joined the Colorado Brass in 2021, where she now serves as the band's second tenor and personnel manager. She originally hails from Ft. Worth, Texas, and completed her undergraduate studies at Texas A&M-Commerce where she studied with Mr. Michael Morrow and Mr. David Cooper. She later earned her Master of Music degree from the University of New Mexico.
Before her move to Colorado, Janice held the position of assistant principal horn with the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra. She currently works as a freelance musician, performing across New Mexico, Texas, and Colorado. She has had notable performances with ensembles such as the New Mexico Philharmonic, the Santa Fe Symphony, and the Greeley Philharmonic. Janice has also toured as a soloist with her duet group, The High Desert Duo, through the American south. In her latest role, she serves as the principal horn of the Littleton Symphony. She also runs a large studio of trumpet and horn students and teaches masterclasses in the Denver metro area. When not performing, she dabbles in baking, painting, and D&D to spark her creative genius. |
